April Fools! Why Weâre Celebrating Christmas in April
Share
You know what they say⊠âThe best way to spread Christmas cheer is confusing everyone mid-year.â Okay, maybe thatâs not exactly the quoteâbut it works for us.
April 1st is traditionally a time for pranks, gags, and pretending your elf on the shelf came back early. But here at Tree Treasures, weâre throwing out the rulebook (and possibly our calendars) to declare this the official start of... Second Christmas.
Because honestly? Once a year just isnât enough. We miss the magic, the mayhem, and the excuse to eat cookies for breakfast.
đ 5 Totally Real* Reasons to Decorate for Christmas in April
*(Disclaimer: âRealâ might be a stretch, but theyâre fun, and thatâs what counts.)
1. The Tree Never Really Left
You know that moment in January where you meant to take down the Christmas tree, but then... you didnât? And now itâs April and itâs basically become part of the furniture?
We see you. And we support you.
Instead of shame-spiraling about leaving it up, lean in. Throw some pastel eggs on it and call it an Easter Tree. Add hearts in February. Shamrocks in March. And now? Time to re-hang the stockings. Youâve basically pioneered a whole new decorating style and weâre ready to name it: Festive Year-Round Minimal Movement.
2. Santa Might Be Doing Surprise Spring Check-ins
You never know when the big guy is cruising around doing some off-season sleigh maintenance or surprise inspections. What if this is the year heâs watching all 12 months?
It wouldnât hurt to keep a few cookies handy. Maybe leave a peppermint-scented candle burning near the fireplaceâjust in case. And if the kids ask why the wreath is still up, just tell them itâs a Santa surveillance device. They'll believe it. Maybe.
3. Tinsel Is a Year-Round Mood
Letâs be honestâthere are very few problems that canât be improved by a good handful of tinsel. It doesnât ask questions. It just sparkles and says, âEverything is fine.â
So if April has you in a slump, try tossing some tinsel on your mantle. Or your monitor. Or your morning cereal (kidding⊠mostly). Sometimes a little sparkle is exactly what your seasonal confusion needs.
Bonus: glitter is basically impossible to clean up completely, so thereâs a good chance your house already looks like Christmas anyway.
4. The Weather Doesnât Know What Season It Is Anyway
Snow on Monday. Thunderstorm Tuesday. Shorts and sandals by Friday.
If the weather canât commit to a vibe, why should we?
Go ahead and light that cinnamon-sugar candle. Put on your favorite Christmas playlist. Hang stockings and plan a âSecret Santa, But Itâs Springâ brunch. Because frankly, April feels a little like Decemberâs long-lost twin anyway.
5. We Just Really Miss Christmas
No sarcasm hereâthis oneâs from the heart. We miss the way everything glows. The way people are just a little kinder. The way itâs socially acceptable to wear flannel pajamas 18 hours a day.
Christmas has a way of bringing out the best in us. And if it takes a little April absurdity to feel that joy again? Weâre all for it.
Whether itâs the nostalgia, the traditions, or just the excuse to hang up twinkle lights and call it a vibeâChristmas in April is the emotional re-set we didnât know we needed.
