April Fools! Why We’re Celebrating Christmas in April

You know what they say… “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is confusing everyone mid-year.” Okay, maybe that’s not exactly the quote—but it works for us.

April 1st is traditionally a time for pranks, gags, and pretending your elf on the shelf came back early. But here at Tree Treasures, we’re throwing out the rulebook (and possibly our calendars) to declare this the official start of... Second Christmas.

Because honestly? Once a year just isn’t enough. We miss the magic, the mayhem, and the excuse to eat cookies for breakfast.

🎁 5 Totally Real* Reasons to Decorate for Christmas in April

*(Disclaimer: “Real” might be a stretch, but they’re fun, and that’s what counts.)

1. The Tree Never Really Left

You know that moment in January where you meant to take down the Christmas tree, but then... you didn’t? And now it’s April and it’s basically become part of the furniture?

We see you. And we support you.

Instead of shame-spiraling about leaving it up, lean in. Throw some pastel eggs on it and call it an Easter Tree. Add hearts in February. Shamrocks in March. And now? Time to re-hang the stockings. You’ve basically pioneered a whole new decorating style and we’re ready to name it: Festive Year-Round Minimal Movement.

2. Santa Might Be Doing Surprise Spring Check-ins

You never know when the big guy is cruising around doing some off-season sleigh maintenance or surprise inspections. What if this is the year he’s watching all 12 months?

It wouldn’t hurt to keep a few cookies handy. Maybe leave a peppermint-scented candle burning near the fireplace—just in case. And if the kids ask why the wreath is still up, just tell them it’s a Santa surveillance device. They'll believe it. Maybe.

3. Tinsel Is a Year-Round Mood

Let’s be honest—there are very few problems that can’t be improved by a good handful of tinsel. It doesn’t ask questions. It just sparkles and says, “Everything is fine.”

So if April has you in a slump, try tossing some tinsel on your mantle. Or your monitor. Or your morning cereal (kidding… mostly). Sometimes a little sparkle is exactly what your seasonal confusion needs.

Bonus: glitter is basically impossible to clean up completely, so there’s a good chance your house already looks like Christmas anyway.

4. The Weather Doesn’t Know What Season It Is Anyway

Snow on Monday. Thunderstorm Tuesday. Shorts and sandals by Friday.

If the weather can’t commit to a vibe, why should we?

Go ahead and light that cinnamon-sugar candle. Put on your favorite Christmas playlist. Hang stockings and plan a “Secret Santa, But It’s Spring” brunch. Because frankly, April feels a little like December’s long-lost twin anyway.

5. We Just Really Miss Christmas

No sarcasm here—this one’s from the heart. We miss the way everything glows. The way people are just a little kinder. The way it’s socially acceptable to wear flannel pajamas 18 hours a day.

Christmas has a way of bringing out the best in us. And if it takes a little April absurdity to feel that joy again? We’re all for it.

Whether it’s the nostalgia, the traditions, or just the excuse to hang up twinkle lights and call it a vibe—Christmas in April is the emotional re-set we didn’t know we needed.

🎅 Join the (Very Early) Holiday Movement

So go ahead—bust out that garland. Put a bow on your coffee mug. Print out your gift tags and laugh when your neighbor looks confused.

Better yet, embrace the chaos and treat yourself (or someone else) to a little surprise holiday magic. Our All In Stock Collection is full of cheerful ornaments and décor that are ready to ship—even if it is April.

🥸 Gotcha.

Okay, maybe we don’t really expect you to deck the halls today... but if you do, just know we support you 100%.

Happy April Fools’ Day from your very merry mischief-makers at Tree Treasures—and may your holiday lights shine bright year-round (even if just in your heart).
